What is considered "vacationing frequently"? Best bet for people who do? |
Travel Info In general, what do you consider frequent vacationing? Once a month or a couple of times a year? And what is the best bet for people who want to vacation a lot in different places? Timeshares? Thanks! Travel Tips I don't know, my friends and coworkers seem to think I vacation frequently because I go somewhere every 3 months, but I just love seeing the world, experiencing other cultures, plus it helps me relax. I do at least 1 big vacation a year, which usually means a week or longer, and I do mini vacations consisting of an extended weekend usually Thurs through Monday. I do use my timeshare on occasion but I also do alot of research and find really cheap deals. Someone always has a special or a package deal. I also subscribe to various online travel newsletters, and I check the travel section weekly for good deals, as well as various online websites. The best thing to do is have an idea of where and when you want to go, and also a limit of how much you want to pay and take the time to plan and research it. Others I think I have traveled a fair bit this year.I went to Singapore in January,Vietnam in March ,India in April,and will be going to Indonesia next month. I am planning to go to either Dubai or China in October.Normally I make it a point to traval at least once a year .Traveling,especially internationally ,broadens your mind and makes you a more open-minded person.You 'll accept different cultures more easily and readily than those who don't do much travel. Plan your trip before hand.Decide whether you want to go to as many countries as possible in a short time ,or you want to go to just one place and explore everything there.The former can be very tiring ,the latter relaxing.I always prefer not to join tours as they very often fall into the first category.Try to find out about the country before you go.Their cultures,history etc. Good luck. (Try the Borneo Island. It's a place for all ages .) The best is when you already live somewhere great, so if you go on a vacation, and then come back, you are coming to, another vacation, or at least a great place to live. People in Micronesia or Hawaii always say that... They'd fly to Bali, and then back,.....to Hawaii. I visited 3 countries last year - to me it's average but to my family members, it's too `frequent'. Like LiangMoi, I try to holiday once a year. I have a friend who travelled to 8 different countries last year! It's like packing and unpacking every 1.5 months! Now that's what I call `vacationing frequently' (I wish!) I always live by this principle - while I can enjoy and walk, I must travel. Don't wait until we are old, full of sickness.
