Calling charges from spain?

when calling someone from abroad, does it cost them if you phone them, from o2 i want to phone my boyfriend from abroad it will cost me 35p a min will it cost him??

It wont cost him to receive your call, only rip-off Britain has this charge on its mobile phone tariffs.

Buy an international call card from one of the kiosks, it works out much cheaper to call home.

Hi, I don't know what soert of international calling packaages you can get on 02, but usually you will be charged per second for calls made back to the UK. He (your b/f) will NOT pay to receive the call. If HE calls YOU on YOUR mobile whilst you are "roaming" in Spain, you will also be charged for an "incoming call", at a similar rate to if you were actually making a call.

Vodafone have a good service called "Vodafone Passport" whereby you pay a fixed connection fee to call the UK from abraod (about 63p in EU / europe), and then the remainder of the call is charged at your "home rate". I think O2 has a special option similar to this, so it might be worth checking with them.

An alternative to using your UK mobile in Spain (especially if you are going to be there for a long time) is to buy a Spanish SIM card which you can use in your existing phone providing that it is not SIM-locked.
