What's it like to move?

Travel Info
I have to move from a small town to Pittsburgh, PA, about 10 hours away. I am 16, going into sophomore year at high school. I love my high school, and have many friends there. I have to go to a whole new school, make whole new friends, and I don't know anyone in Pittsburgh. I am not moving into the city of Pittsbugh, but a small suburb outside of it. Please share with me your experience of moving and how you overcame the differences, and some advice.

Travel Tips
I also had to move once, including a change in friends, etc. It's a bit weird in the beginning, but once you're settled in your new home you start to feel more comfortable and after a while you'll surely have as many friends as you had in your old school.
Take it as an exciting new experience and make the best of it! Be open to big city neurotics ;-) (they can be really good fun!)
Enjoy your time!
Others
The sensation of moving is very unique. Things that are close to you are moving but things far away seem to standing still. In many cases the rush of air across your face is another indication that you are moving. I hope this helps.
First off, your friends in your home town will still be your friends. Email and telephone make everything really easy! Make a point of staying in touch with these people. Set aside a time to send them updates, all in a group or one by one. Maybe Monday night after homework you could send everyone an email, and you will end up with responses throughout the week, making everyone a little closer.
No joke, moving is hard and stressful. But it can be good, too. You are about to embark on a new adventure in your life. You have the opportunity to learn lots of new things and meet lots of new people. Exciting! Be yourself, and don't forget to smile. Get involved in the things that are important to you, inside or outside of school. Be friendly but don't be a fool.
All in all, if you maintain a good head on your shoulders and a clear outlook on life you will be fine.
