Travel Info What are some area dangers as of now in tampa bay, florida? why? my 27 year old brother went to visit his girlfriend that says, "she needs some space" and he called about 2 days ago saying he was there. the next day, we called 2 times and he didn't answer, then we called this morning, and he didn't answer. his phone is turned on, though. do we need to contact police? do we need to put out a missing person thing? i really love him, and so does my family. he has also been trough a very rough time with jobs and is depressed, but not much. we live in tennessee. Travel Tips You definately have to contact the local authorities in both tennesee and florida and have them put out a missing person flyer Have you tried calling the 'girlfriend'? also find out if the girlfriend has a prior criminal record. Others did you say it's been a couple of days? then, yes, it's time to file a missing persons report. Of course it may be that your brother is just trying to be by himself. In fact, that's the most likely explanation. But it's also time to have the police checking to make sure nothing bad has happened. That's one of the things you pay taxes for. You can contact the Tampa Bay Police Department and ask them to check on him or do you know anyone else in the area that can do it? Contact the police as it's better safe than sorry. Do you have the contact numbers of his friends? his girl? anyone you know he knows? He may have crashed at a friend's place, or he may have also lost his phone. Check all possibilities. Good luck. I would definitely say yes to calling the police and filing a report. Even if it turns out to be nothing your brother will know that if the situation were serious he could count on you to take the appropriate steps. And if it is something, G-d forbid, you will be doing what you need to do and be that much closer to locating him.
