Help! Moving to London in July?

Travel Info
We are a married couple from Peru and Poland, lived in NY for 10 years and now we moved to Denmark this past January but being relocated to London due to my husbands job. We have not kids or pets are in our late 20s and love to go out for dinner, movies, bar, lounges, shops, etc

We used to live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn/NY and loved it there. It is a trendy/artsy neighborhood with young people, boutiques, restaurants, close to the Subway and Manhattan.

We need something similar in London. Our budget is P1400 per month. We have been reaserching neighborhoods and so far Canary Wharf seems to be the best choice for us.

Any suggestions to realtors? we are moving there with our own furniture for a long time and consideringtosettle there after all.

Please help! Advice us on Trendy Neighborhoods, Zone 1,2,3 crossing the river either way. My husband will be working in Rochester (Kent County) so we need something around NE, SE or SW close to city and nice.

Thanks

Travel Tips
Have you considered the area of Hammersmith? It's a fairly young, hip district with many of the trendy elements you seem to favour. It is located in Zone 2. There are many young singles, especially young professionals trying to establish themselves. There are many interesting shops, restaurants, and lots of entertainment venues (theatre, etc). It is easy to access central London via the Underground; simply take the Hammersmith station to the Hammersmith and City line. To get to the heart of the city, you will need to make a fairly easy transfer at either Edgeware Road or Baker Street.

Also, please don't listen to all these people who keep calling London a horrible place to live. I found it to be most enjoyable. The pubs were great, and the clubbing is even more fantastic. The theatre can't be beat, and neither can the selection of art galleries. The City of Westminster (central London) is always kept spotless, and street cleaners seems to be out 24/7. Overall, I believe London is one the most exhilarating places on earth to live. Best of luck. Source(s): Lived in London for 1 year.
Other Travel Tips
If he will be working in Rochester, you *really* don't want to be living anywhere in London, I promise you. The nearest big town/city to there I would consider living is Canterbury.

If you live in London he will have to travel about 2 hours *each way* to Rochester. Plus London is expensive, noisy and dirty.

You would be better finding a quiet village somewhere and enjoying English country life.
I would like too...
I live in Italy.
Stay out of London if you can, it's a sh!thole.

Move to one of the suburbs and experience English life at it's finest, country pubs, lovely countryside, log fires etc etc.
Avoid Canary Wharf at all costs! It's souless! And it's miles from any cool places. If your husband is working in kent you should really live south of the river, as getting over london can be a pain in the neck.

Ballham/Clapham are fantastic places to live (my mum lives in Ballham). There are loads of cool bars, restaurants, shops etc and the place has millions of parks/commons which are lovely. In fact I can't think of any where better fo you lo live then Clapham!
Rochester is around 30 miles from London. This is what you can get in London: (It would be better if you said how many beds you want an apartment or house. But I'll try.)
