Thinking of moving to Nottingham...?

Travel Info
I currently live by the coast and will miss it so can anyone give me the plusses of living in Nottingham?

Travel Tips
Nottingham is NOT that bad and scary! honestly, is that all there is when ppl hear nottingham...?
there are places in nottingham that sparks those rumours which you should avoid living in, like St Anns do not live there.
safe and picturesque places of nottingham are wollaton, wollaton vale, beeston, stapleford, west bridgeford. they are really nice places, safe, clean etc.

as a town it hits plusses for me cz it has everything, many cinema, restaurants, really good shopping places. theatre even big ice rink. there are also parks that are nice for jogging around throughout the city.
also a cheesecake shop... they do really gorgeous cheesecakes - personal favourite and something i have not found in other cities. but bottom line anything you're into im sure its there in nottingham.

It's a big city but i dont get that crouded feeling like i do when im in the town of some big city. So thats also a nice feeling.

public transport is also fairly cheap - cheaper than the town im living in now(!) and they also have a very good (new) tram transport again fairly cheap making it easy to get around.

i grew up there and lived there for 10 years. i dont live there anymore but i do really miss the place. ive never had any firsthand experience of the 'bad rumours' of nottingham at all, all that time i lived there so that should say something.
I hope you give the town a try. really believe it has a lot of things to offer.

all the best with your decision and/or move. Source(s): i lived there. i know the areas pretty well.
Other Travel Tips
It's a nice and quiet place. And the security is good
take a bullet proof vest

plusses of living there?

its close to birmingham
Lots of stabbings and shootings. If you like a wild west kind of town then it should suit you
i come from nottingham, but have lived away for about 11yrs, i went back to see family and i am so glad i am not there anymore, it has changed beyond recognition. it certainly laid some ghosts for me, as i had thought about going back, but once i got there i knew i had done the right thing by leaving. there are still some lovely places, but very few and far between now. it just depends on what you are looking for. i have moved around alot in the job i have had, but now settled in yorkshire which i now class as home.
Loads of women there.
