yes, because ireland is apart of the uk
you surely can as long as you have photo identification.
no you don't need a passport to go from Ireland to England. A lot of airlines require you to have photo ID but that could be a drivers licence or whatever else you have with a photo but it does not have to be a passport
Yes airlines will accept photo i.d. other than passport. But they stipulate what you can use so check with the airline your aunt will be flying with. I believe its the destinations they class as 'domestic routes' that you can do this on.
The Anglo Irish agreements allow for UK and Irish citizens to travel between the two countries without immigration checks. This means that no passport is required for travel between the two countries because there are no immigration checks. However, you do need identification for security checks.

In practice, this means no passport is required for travel between Eire and the UK. Identification will be required to board the plane - a significant number of airlines will ask for photo id, although you should speak to the airline to confirm what identification they require for you to board the plane.
Are you referring to N. Ireland or The Republic (Eire)? For the former, you don't need a passport, but check with the airline when you book as they have discretionary rights.
