MOving to and working in Lancashire- cleveleys-thornton? |
Travel Info hiya, hopefully, fingers crossed that we get my hubbies settlement visa in due time, we will be moving to thornton-cleveleys in Lancashire. Does anyone live up that way that could recommend any of the following, second-hand furniture stores (local), real-estate letting agents, nightlife- nice pubs good priced meals, reasonable priced supermarkets, internet/phone and TV provider and HOW TO SIGN UP... best gas and electric companies and HOW TO SIGN UP.. yeah im from australia and have never lived in the UK so im gonna be a fish out of water for sure...what should i look out for when it comes to renting, buying, hooking up to gas elec tv internet etc.. any helpful or friendly hints about the place are most appreciated THANKS HEAPS GUYS CARRIE :) Travel Tips Go to www.rightmove.co.uk they do letting as well as selling If you drive around you can get some pubs doing 2 for one or 2 meals for 拢10.00 - if there is a Witherspoons pub near they are good value and no loud music lol. You will get terrestial tv - but if you want more choice we have cable, freeview and sky Sky at the moment are offering Surf, Speak and See which means what it says internet, phone and tv for 拢26.00 per month. Cable are offering something similar - depends on your preference. There are plenty of Supermarkets around some in Blackpool which is not that far away from you. Check the internet for cheapest Gas/Electricity prices - there is a site www.switch.co.uk we can go onto the site and look and the cheapest and change over - they do it all for you. Has for furniture - get a yellow pages (classified ads) they will list all the Second hand Furniture shops - sorry do not know if site for this on web. You could also try our Car Boot Sales - there is a big one near the motorway at Blackpool I know the trams run from Cleveleys to Blackpool They will be plenty of nightlife in Blackpool - if you have never heard of it you will be in for a shock - it is a main holiday destination for a lot of Northerners - a lot of hen parties and stag parties etc., it has a huge 'pleasureland' Funfair - a lot of shows on the end of the pier etc You are going to love it I hope - you will close enough - and also far enough away if you get the drift. If you are renting most places will already be on gas/electric - your letting agent will let you know Hope some of this information helps you a little.
