Where is really nice to stay on the Isle of Wight?

Travel Info
I am going for a couple of days and want to stay by the sea somewhere really nice and scenic. Any recommendations?

Travel Tips
Given the size of the Island, what you have described as your wish covers rather a lot of it. Yarmouth Bay is good, there again so is most of the coastline from Shanklin to West Wight falls into this category, but if I were to choose one place it would be Bonchurch.

Bonchurch is a pretty village with lots of old cottages, complete with really good pub, an ancient chapel/church and a duck pond. It is quiet and peaceful and the seafront is a short walk from the centre of the village. From there the walk through the Undercliff to Shanklin is outstanding, and the other way it is only a couple of miles into Ventnor. (with even more good pubs) Yes on reflection the Island is good, but Bonchurch is something special. Source(s): I lived there between 1975 and 1990
Other Travel Tips
Ventnor is quite quaint and still has a Victorian air to it.
There is a great seaside pub there too that does good ale and fabulous food. Hang on, I'll join you,,,,,,,,,,
my brother used to live in cowes which is very nice, the whole island is very nice simply because its looked after alot better than the mainland.

and to be honest it doesn't really matter where u stay as everywhere is no more than a 15 min drive away
I would say Shanklin its got the beach, pier, views, shops. But anywhere is v/nice lovely island with lots to see and do,Better if you were going for a week.
Search the web for some accommodation at Steephill Cove near Ventnor. You can get a seafront appartment at reasonable rates out of season and you have some great walks into Ventnor to the Spyglass inn for a beer or up into the botanical gardens. I seem to remember a place at Steephill called the Boathouse that did a loft appartment.
The isle of wight is gorgeous ( especially when the sun shines) I would personally avoid Ryde, but I really did enjoy Sandown. Quiet, beautiful and picturesque.
