Loch in Scotland - other Loch except Loch Ness?

Travel Info
Is there other Loch except for Loch Ness which are worth visiting in Scotland?

Travel Tips
Loch Fynne is prett nice. In fact they are all worth a look. You could do the Great Glen Way which takes you past a few. Takes a few days to complete though.

Lomond.
Loch Lommand
No, they all look the same.
You can go on the boat all round Loch Lomond, it's very good. They show you where Rob Roy lived and the cave he hid in when he was on the run, also some nice waterfalls and you can evev get a drink on the boat. Go for it you'll enjoy it.
Hi there Polly.

I spent a great deal of time working in the Highlands for BT, and can safely say that there are literally hundreds of Lochs that are worth visiting, depending on what you want to get from them.

Loch Ness is very pretty. An immense stretch of water with an old castle at one end. However, the towns on it's shores tend to be really geared up for tourists, so you don't really get a true "flavour".

Amongth the other lochs well worth a visit are Loch Lomond (huge and very accesible), Loch Fyne, Loch Linnhe (very very pretty, "wild" otters, that sort of thing) and of course not forgetting Loch Lochy (true - I think they ran out of names!).

However, I would strongly recommend that you go explore the region yourself - I found that more often than not, when you are just trailing about the place, you discover areas that you simply won't find in any guide books. The scenery in the Highlands and on the West Coast of Scotland is simply breathtaking, and unlike anything else in the world.

Highly recommend that you spend a week or ten days up there following your nose! My wife & I found many lovely, undisturbed, remote places purley by chance! One of my abiding memories is the drive from Glasgow to Oban, and just following the road as it meanders between the lochs and mountains, turning a corner and being confronted by a beautiful waterfall, cascading some 100 feet down teh side of a mountain. Stunning.

ps - if you go, avoid early summer, as you'll get bitten to death by the midgies!
