Other Travel Tips Well the television is obvious, most of the programmes are made and funded in the states so it makes perfect sense that they would have first viewing rights. As for everything else, Britain is right on par with U.S.A. I don't know why you think they're not. In fact, the British lifestyle is far healthier than the American. because we're patient and when we do something its perfect we don't rush in blindly and then have regrets after ,we believe in the big picture not here and now the future is important Come on beautiful - are you trying to start a war between the US and the UK. Many of the things in England are far advanced over America - Out television technology is way ahead of the US - can you receive TV from a satellite - do you have 'Interactive' TV - where you can actually buy items through your TV like on the internet - when watching a ball game can you select the views of the game you want to see - I think not. The only thing wrong with our TV is the programmes they show - and that is because the vast majority of them come from America. Our lifestyle is every bit as good as a very large percentage of Americans - and whats so special about building big - have you never heard the expression "small is beatiful" I really think you need to learn a lot more about England - and if you ask sensible questions on here the army of 'Brits' here will be very happy to educate you If our Television is soooo bad then why is the BBC able to sell it's programmes all over the world...including the good USof A Its just different. Its certainly not behind on fashion. Most fashion originates in Italy, and arrives here long, long, long before it reaches America (so much so that colleagues of mine used to always buy their clothes on trips to the UK). Some technology takes longer to adopt here, some is faster. For instance, the UK is years ahead on digital TV, was decades ahead on satellite TV, remains hugely ahead on mobile phones (the US is still on a very backward system while the rest of the world is on GSM, invented in the UK and France). The world wibe web was a British invention - Tim Berners Lee created it while working at CERN. On TV, the three fastest selling formats in US TV history all came from the UK and Holland. One, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, was the most successful show in US TV history. So I think you are - to put it mildly - grossly misinformed. |
