Where would you recommend visiting in the West Coast of Scotland? |
Travel Info We are looking for some lovely beaches that we can visit in August, not sure whether to take my car or get the train so is there beaches you can easily reach using public transport or do you need to drive to the best beaches? Travel Tips Hi I would head to the highlands if I were you, it is fantastic. Visit Plockton, which although isn't beachy is a fantastic village on the coast. Some scenes from the original Wicker Man were filmed there too. Applecross is meant to be beautiful too, with a stunning drive to get there at no extra cost. If you can get to the north coast there are some fantastic beaches near Bettyhill and Tongue. I would suggest you drive to Scotland but then have a few days out on the train and see where you end up!! Hope this helps Happy Travelling!! Dean Others Check out http://www.west-scotland-tourism.com/lin... Stay in Ayr and just drive round that area. It is a lovely town good shopping a very long beach good bars and restaurants, friendly people. We have stayed there a few times.
