What are the safest and most dangerous cities/towns in England?

Travel Tips
London, Manchester or Liverpool are fairly violent etc... (contrary to popular belief, birmingham really isnt in most of its areas<i know as i live there>) the least violent would be anywhere (pretty much) around the coasts. People there tend to be less chavy, and since chavs are the main reason for violence (forming gangs, gun/knife/drug crime etc) it follows they are safer.
Others
Most dangerous is either east London or north Manchester. Safest would be somewhere like Oxford or Bath.
hard question that do u mean personaly for ones self or in overall.
safest is anywhere on shetland isles

most dangerous is london
Er London is a huge place guys (probably americans answering above) In London Hackney is considered a dangerous place to live but South London and the East End of London has quite a high crime rate, especially muggings and shooting etc
North London is considered to be safer as it is more affluent.
To be honest as a woman I never go out alone after dark, and dont take risks wherever I visit.
There are frankly nutters everywhere!
grimsby safe town anywhere can be dangerous really but london i bit busy
er Tracy,Hackney is E, london and I wouldnt really say its any worse than most inner cities.North london has its danger spots too,its not all more affluent at all.London can be dangerous but if you keep your nose clean, and dont do nothing stupid, you will probably be as safe as anywhere.
