Absolutely! A green Card only works in the USA. It is absolutely useless when you leave the US.

If you are going to England, you will need to abide by their laws. As far as England is concerned, you are a citizen of your own country, and any privileges and/or restrictions that pertain to the people in your country pertain to you; your status as a resident of the U.S. probably doesn't mean much to them, since you are not a U.S. citizen.
