Me and my family are going to Norfolk in a couple of weeks!!? |
Travel Info Can anybody reccomend any really good places to go ie; family friendly restaurants, beaches amusement parks etc. My kids are 7&3 and we are also taking the dog Travel Tips There is North Norfolk Railway - a preserved steam railway connecting Sheringham to Holt (10.5 mile round trip). Hilltop Outdoor Centre in Sheringham does adventure days for children and families. Facilities include archery, climbing, tree top trail etc. Cromer Pier is good for crabbing and also has a Pavillion Theatre which has a summer seaside special. In Cromer there is a mini boating lake attraction which your children would love as I did at their age. There are great walks along the beaches ( most of the beaches are fantastic along the North Norfolk coastline) where you can take your dog. Bird watching is good especially at Holmes Dunes and Salthouse Marshes. There is also a Wetland Nature Reserve at Titchwell Marsh. Holkham Hall is another option. In Wells-next -the -Sea, it also has a nature reserve and the beach again is fantastically unspoilt. There is a country fair on the 21st-22nd July. In addition, it has a deer park with free unlimited access. In Cromer again there is Felbrigg Hall with small walks in the surrounding forest. For food you can't beat fish and chips after a day at the seaside but Cromer is also famous for its crabs!Cromer on the whole is a great day out for the family. Norwich is a nice city to amble around and has a big market. You could go on a boating trip on the Broads. Hope that you have an enjoyable holiday! Source(s): My parents live in Cromer. Other Travel Tips Sherringham and the surrounding district is good and Cromer, both have beaches and plenty of resturants either in the towns or surrounding villages. If you want amuzements then Great Yarmouth area has lots. Go to: http://www.norfolk-norwich.com/index-tou... there are plenty of places in Norfolk ask when you get there have a nice time it is lovely there. Wells-next-the-sea has it all, huge beach with dunes, wood walks, camping, crabbing off the quay, fish and chips, pleasant town with tea shops. But you can't go far wrong anywhere around the coast. Avoid Burnham Market though. - high prices and a majority of second homer toffs complete with chealsea tractors. You should have a look at Norwich as well. Nice pedestrain friendly centre with a lot of small independant shops outside the Malls. Enjoy your fortnight! I moved here from London 10 years ago. Um Norfolk is quite big you know. Where? There are some lovely beaches but take care where you take your dogs as some beaches don't allow dogs. Why not try some of the norfolk websites. We look forward to having you. xx |
