Travel Tips Our castles are amazing apparently for visitors - never been that interested in them myself! There are good places to visit around north-west Wales, such as Conwy castle, Caernarfon castle and Penrhyn castle. Conwy's is simply breathtaking, Caernarfon good for energetic children and Penrhyn is more of a stately home kinda thing - it has furniture and everything. It's also very good for people who want cultural experiences - they have an electronic guide thing (optional). There's also a brilliant, absolutely brilliant kids' area, with a park and even abseiling! Conwy is a particularly good all-rounder - has a beach, castle, boat rides, donkey rides (summer), THE smallest house in the world (it's TINY!) and of course, tons of people speaking Welsh around you. It's very cultural. On the Welsh front anyway! Obviously I'm a bit biased since I live around this area. I'm sure there are other, equally as interesting things to do elsewhere, but these are certainly good options! Try the Visit Britain website - it should tell you all you need to know. http://www.visitbritain.com/ come to dorset (down the south west) theres a town called weymouth which has a long and interesting history. a tradtional english seaside resort with a great town!! and fishing harbour, portland with a lighthouse, also surrounding villages and towns are stepped in history from thomas hardys house and sir issac newton was killed and buried here, and madonna lives here too so cant be that bad look up weymouth&portland tourism. lived there 27 years |
