England vs Scotland why are there such differences?

Travel Info
I visited Scotland many times and England twice. From the first time I noticed, that England isn't perfect structured, organised and tidy like Scotland. Why is that?
I loved the Scottish from the first time I have been there but I don't like the English. But I thought because it's all Britain it麓s everywhere the same.

Travel Tips
The union of Britain happened relatively recently, so its understandable there are still great differences. Especially between Scotland and England, where we still even have different laws!
Glaswegian born and bred, I could easily say Scotland rules, England sucks. But I wouldn't. There are some nice places in England, and some awful ones in Scotland. Judging from your description of 'tidy', i'm guessing you've been to some nice places.
I would say you've probably seen such a big difference because, depending on where you visited, Scotland is very geared for tourists, and people are a lot more inviting as tourism is a HUGE industry in Scotland.
Glad you had a good time
Others
I've just got back from Scotland, land of my birth, and 'Perfectly structured, organised and tidy' is not exactly the phrase that came to my mind!
Um, the Scottish say 'Bonnie Wee Jimmy' all day, eat haggis and wear skirts.

The English don't.
I spent 10 minutes in the USA and 10 minutes in Canada, now I feel I can judge both countries and say one is better than the other. not just that, but the people too. I met 2 of them, and one was mean, so I bet they are all like that.
there's good and bad everywhere - you're making a huge generalisation here.
England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales were and still are separate countries with different customs and habits. It's only through the Union of 1707 that the Scottish and English parliament became one and both countries governed from Westminster. A condition of that merger was that Scotland kept it's own power to legislate and govern it's own laws. Hence the United kingdom.
The average Scot, when you bypass the English propaganda, is friendly and well mannered and realise their commerce relies heavily on tourism.
The English tend to think they still own an Empire and speak the only accepted language on earth !
It's England this and England that, but if you removed all the Welsh, Irish and Scots from their army, as Burns would say, they're just "wee timorous beasties" !
