Where is a nice, and inexpensive place to live in california?

Travel Tips
California is expensive ... period.

However, if you stay away from the major cities, you may find it possible. Check the central valley (Fresno, Modesto), or the extreme north coast (Crescent City, Arcata), or the desert (Needles, Blythe etc)

compton
In the desert, over the mountains going North out of LA or out in the same desert up north west of San Fransisco. Fresno for example.
Compton is cheap, but also dangerous in some areas. You can move to Riverside county... Pasadena however, it's not as nice as Orange County or some L.A. areas.. it's lonely too. :/
I don't think there are any. Rent prices in California are crazy, even if you don't live in a nice place (I should know, I lived in the Central Valley, it was crazy expensive and soooo booring and smelly from the dairies and dusty from all the dust ag machinery kicks up) and just unbelievable if you live in a really great place like San Francisco (my hipster friends in SF were paying zillions to all share tiny apartments with lots of them all crammed in together).
