When is the best time to go to Florida??? |
Travel Info We're planning on getting married in Florida at sunset. When is the best time to go to where it's not very hot, but it's not chilly at sunset? Travel Tips My aunt lives in the panhandle of FL. She said right now, it is in the 70's in the daytime. Which is strange weather for them this time of year. I'd say sometime in May or June would be the best. I'm going to Florida in June. I love it there that time of year. Others My suggestion would be...not during hurricane season which is June 1st - Dec. 1st. And congrats and good luck! I'd second that....not when a hurricane is looming in the Gulf of Mexico or around Florida. I lived in Orlando for about a year (and visited during the Holidays for a few years). Even in the middle of December and January, the temperature is usually in the 60s and 70s range, although it will depend on the specific day whether it gets truly chilly by sundown. But the best time to go is winter (at least for the Orlando area) is during the winter months, because it is very temperate. Actually, one advantage in Orlando is that it rains for just an hour or two almost every day in the afternoon, which helps cool things down, even during the hotter months. I was almost always comfortable in Florida except for the middle of the day through the hottest months of summer. The weather's prettiest between Jan and March, but that's when everyone else is there, too, and when the airfare is higher. Go in the fall. Yes, it's hurricane season, but if you go to the west coast (Tampa, Sarasota, Ft Myers), you're a lot less likely to get hit with hurricanes---it's also easier to get a sunset on the beach on the west coast!! Also, because of the gulf coast breezes, west coast stays cooler than central or east coast. it cools down in late nov, early dec, but most of the fall should be pretty tolerable. lived in Sarasota for two years I agree with the person above me. I grew up in Sarasota and I have to say the weather is the best in March and April! |
