any web-sites where I can find good deals for plane tickets?
We are planning to go from Chicago-to Maui (Hawaii)-to Los Angeles - to Chicago.
I just checked Expedia.com and the ticket is around $1200 per person!!!! Toooooo expensive!

Last month I got tickets to Texas from Northern Nevada. I searched everywhere and the best I found was on:
www.cheapair.com.

We got round trip for around $200 each person. It takes lots of work to search out the best buys so dont give up. Here is what I do generally:

Call the Airlines directly and ask for lowest fare. Use this as a comparison. Now go to the airline web sites as sometimes they are lower.
Lastly go to discount carriers. Check out each one. Like these:

travelocity.com
cheapair.com
orbitz.com
hotwire.com
tripreservations.com
expedia.com
cheapair.com

Check them out each one and compare.
Also my biggest suggestion is to try a smaller airport near the city you are flying. Many times these smaller airports want the business and have much lower rates.

Example: When I flew to Texas I checked Dallas, San Antonio and Houston. They were all very high so I flew to Austin. It was a nicer, slightly smaller airport and much more convenient. Then we got transportation to Ft. Hood. And it was still cheaper. Many of these smaller airports have transit buses on site to get you to where you need to go for little money. Or if you are renting a car you only have a little more driving to your distination.

Instead of LAX (Los Angeles) try Burbank. Better airport and close by. Or try Long Beach or San Diego.

Try cheaptickets.com or Southwest Airlines..but don't go Delta, I had a horrible experience with them and it isn't worth it.
I'm in Chicago, and it is expensive to fly to Maui. When we did fly we did stop in SF, CA. So maybe you can fly to SF or LAX then go to Hawaii from there, I'm sure the flights are cheaper flying from there. Try JebBlue they just started flying out of Ohare, I'm not sure if they fly to Hawaii, but they do go to CA. hope this helps.
