Grand Canyon Horse ride? |
Travel Info Hi, I have heard that you can take a horse dow to the floor of the cannyon, is this correct as I can only find helicopter rides. Also, how would I go about doing this and booking online? thanks Travel Tips You can take mule rides (not horse) to the bottom of the Grand Canyon at Grand Canyon National Park from either rim. They have rides that go half-way down (to Indian Gardens and Plateau Point on the South Rim) and also rides that go all the way to Phantom Ranch at the bottom. Note that if you are going all the way to the bottom, than you must stay the night and this requires reservations at Phantom Ranch which can be very difficult to get (they take reservations a year in advance). They don't have mule rides all the way to the bottom and back in a single day. Both Phantom Ranch lodging and the mule rides are all ran through Xanterra Inc (a park vendor). I have listed their website at the bottom which contains information about getting reservations for both mule rides and lodging. You can make lodging reservations online, but mule trip reservations must be made by phone. You definitely want to have reservations for both as it very unlikely (though not impossible) to get them if you just show up. Have fun!
