Road trip! Help me find cool things to see!? |
Travel Info I live in Maryland and I'm taking a road trip south. My plan thus far is to go to Myrtle beach SC, Savannah GA, Nashville, Memphis, and Johnson City Tn. Any suggestions on spots? Possible addresses for mapquest? Travel Tips I grew up in Savannah, Ga. I will try to help. In Savannah a must do is night life on River Street. Its an old cobblestone street with old cotton and slave warehouses that have been converted into bars and resteraunts. Do one of the Historical Tours. I hear they have one called "Haunted Savannah" now. If you can eat at the 'Pirates House". Also see Tybee Island (the local beach) Ft. Pulaski, take a dinner cruise on the "Savannah", go see Forsythe Park and If you see Bill Edwards keep your kids away from him. Others Savannah GA, is really nice. Stay in the historic district on the waterfront. Here are a couple of nice places to stay. The River Street Inn http://www.riverstreetinn.com/ East Bay Inn 225 E. Bay St., Savannah http://www.eastbayinn.com/ http://www.savcvb.com/ http://www.dsldance.com Go to www.lightninrv.com and go to Lifestyle/Travel link. You can view our Special Events Calender...but don't look at it for just the time period you're going out, as the places we list there are great destination sites 12 months a year; also look at the Travel Links...especially the "Wackiest Tourist Attractions in the U.S." "The Largest Roadside Attractions in the U.S." and even "Watch it Made in the U.S." for a ton of great/fun places to see and things to do. Not only is there mapquest for you to use, but a national DOT site to look at road conditions as well...let's you avoid all those roads under construction. Each place listed has it's website listed as well for you to get any addresses you might want. |
