Looking for a new place to live? |
Travel Info My husband and I are debating a move once he's out of the military. Right now we are in Virginia; neither one of us has a desire to stay. My family is in Georgia; his is in California. I love California, have lived there and would love to go back, but he doesn't really want to return. Does anyone have any suggestions for a great place to live? It would be nice to be close to family, at least within easy driving distance. I love certain aspects of small towns, so long as there is a large city close by. Safety is very important to me, so I'm really aiming for low crime areas. We have a son starting middle school, so schools are an issue as well. We also love sporting events (NASCAR, football, baseball) and have a large dog, so a yard is a must. Hubby would prefer to remain on the east coast, but I'm open to all suggestions. Thank you in advance for your suggestions and opinions! Travel Tips I have spent the last year living in an area just west of Charlotte, NC in a small town called Belmont. The weather here is great, the people I meet as nice as can be and I have an acre lot with a nice home that was far more affordable than any other area I have seen. We are the home of NASCAR, have football and basketball and the jobs seem to be real plentiful. I am extremely happy I made the move and my family loves it. The kids enjoy the school and I cannot think of a better place to live. Others I just watched a program called 'Forbes top 10 places to live" and Boise, Idaho was known for its friendly/cozy atmosphere. I was really impressed by it's charm & beauty. Not too expensive either : ) You should check it out online.. Good luck & God Bless!!! http://www.fineliving.com/fine/our_speci... First thing you need to do is to decide: WHICH FAMILY? . |
