Are passport fees the same everywhere? |
Travel Info I'm writing a report about how to obtain a passport; are the fees the same everywhere? I know mine's $97, is that the same for everyone or is that specific to my town/state? Travel Tips If you are writing a report on how to obtain a passport, you need to go to the official state department website that tells all about how to get a passport. It is listed below. Good luck on your paper. Source(s): http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/get... Other Travel Tips no fees are diffrent in some places it depends on where you go for the photo, cause cvs is cheaper then the post office, and fees change from the location, cause some people never get on. bon voyage! They're issued through the US State Department, so the fees are the same for everybody for the issuance. Other costs, such as getting the photos, will vary. I am a US citizen who lives in the Czech Republic. For new passports (basically only possible if you lose your passport, because you have to have a passport to get here in the first place -- or be born here) the fee even all the way over here is US$97. As the time is soon coming up for me to renew my passport, I checked and saw the renewal fee is US$67. These are adult fees; children's fees are lower (just as they are in the U.S.). As your fees in the US are the same, I think it would be safe to assume that US passport issuance fees are the same everywhere in the world. The only difference would be that here in the Czech Republic I can pay in US dollars or the equivalent in Czech crowns (the local currency). And if I've lost my passport, it takes the embassy here just two hours to issue me a new one. I recall it taking a week or more in the U.S. Cheers http://www.usembassy.cz |
