Do I have to have a notarized note to cross the United States border with adults other than my parents? |
Travel Info Canadian Citizen, don't need a visa, minor. Travel Tips Have to have - No. Recommended - Highly. There are situations that it would be wise to have it. For Example: The people you are with cannot sign for you to get medical services. Others It is strongly suggested. You MAY get through but you may not. Just the luck of the draw. If you are a minor and travelling with only 1 of your parents the US border requests that you have a notarized note from the other parent that shows you do have permission to enter the States with the parent you are travelling with. So if you aren't travelling with either parent, it would likely be even more important. If you want to make sure you get across, it would be best to get the notarized note. It wouldn't be great to have to turn around and be sent home. |
