Does anyone know how it is to live in oregon and texas? |
Travel Info Where is thr better place to live? Travel Tips Oregon has no sales taxes (so far, only one of 2 states in the US that doesn't). Very little humidity year round. Lots of rain most years (mostly drizzles). If you live in the Portland area, you're about an hour or less from Mount Hood (skiing, hiking, etc.), depending on which side of the city, about an hour from the coast (scenic, whale watching, fishing, etc.). Wages are okay, more BLM land (lots of government forests), and a more liberal political leaning. Anywhere in the Williamette Valley area from Vancouver, BC (to the north) to Grants Pass, OR (to the south) is pretty mild weather wise most years. If you don't mind more moisture from Sept through May, and beautiful green foliage, you might like Oregon. I can't say about Texas, I've only visited there. Source(s): 24 year resident Other Travel Tips Texas has no income tax, and very little snow. Oregon doesn't have fire ants. Texas has beaches and is close to vacation spots in Mexico. Oregon has skiing, ice skating, and is close to Alaska and California, and big game hunting. Texas has a lot of illegals that protest the government. Oregon has lots of environmentalists that protest the government. I dunno. Both are good, both are crazy. Never been to Oregon but people that lived there want to move back. They always speak positively about the state and its culture. Texas been there on visits. It is just a fun place. But they have some strange taxes in Texas. Best Place to live is in Las Vegas. That is paradise. |
