I finally made it to Des Moines, now what? |
Travel Info I made it here tonight from California. It is after dark now and I'm staying at a West Des Moines hotel. Tomorrow I am going to start looking around town for the best area to find an apartment. I am not working yet, but hope to find work as a commercial truck driver. I am open to any info you can give me about Des Moines. Like Neighborhoods, parts of town to avoid, scenic places to visit, and so on. Coming to Des Moines was a last minute decision. I was planning on Kansas City, but decided it was too big once I got there, and headed north to DM. I appreciate any and all input. Travel Tips Parts of West DesMoines may be an area you want to avoid, it may be lower for rental housing, but the crime rate is higher. For entertainment in the area you can always check on www.craigslist.com and then find the Iowa, and DesMoines listings. There is also a Casino in the area if I remember correctly. Others Know how to plant corn and drive a John Deere? |
