What are good vacation spots in colorado? |
Travel Info preferably somewhat close to colorado springs Travel Tips Ok, first, Aspen and Durango are nowhere NEAR Colorado Springs! Take the cog railroad to the top of Pikes Peak - enjoy the amazing views and scenery. http://www.cograilway.com/ Garden of the Gods truly is amazing - a natural wonder and beautiful. The Air Force Academy has self-guided tours, and their chapel is awesome! http://www.usafa.af.mil/superintendent/p... The only high altitude zoo in the country - more giraffes are born there than any other zoo! http://www.cmzoo.org/ At night, there are some wonderful restaurants in the downtown area and on the westside. One of my favorites, though, is up north, almost directly across the highway from the AFA. Plate World Cuisine has a great atmosphere and the food is GREAT. http://www.platecolorado.com/ I think a really fun thing to do at night is to go to the Golden Bee at the Broadmoor. They have a huge bar that was shipped over from England and they do "sing-alongs" with a pinao player. Really not as corny as it sounds. After a yard or a half-yard of ale everybody sounds good : ) http://www.broadmoor.com/golden-bee.php.... Source(s): I live here! Other Travel Tips Aspen is the high class vacation spot. Telluride is another cool destination. Vail is a good middle of the road ski town. Durango and Silverton are amazing. They're in the Southwestern area of Colorago. Just driving around the area you'll see amazing streams, wildlife, and the mountains of course. Silverton is unbelievable. It's this little old western town and the snow gets about 10 feet deep at least. We saw homes where the garage doors were blocked by snow and everyone had the snowmobiles to get around. |
