Anybody here ever been to Waverly Hills in Louisville? |
Travel Info This whole TB man news reminded me of it. I used to want to go when I was little. I've seen it from Dixie Highway before but never actually been up there. Anyone been there? What was it like? Travel Tips I went there once before the current restoration was started. Some TV shows about the paranormal activity at Waverly Hills have been "Spooked: The Ghosts of Waverly Hills Sanatorium", an episode of "Scariest Places On Earth", an episode of "Ghost Hunters", an episode of "Celebrity Paranormal Project" & the movie "Death Tunnel" Waverly Hills is the creepiest place I have ever been to (and I didn't even go inside the building). It is estimated that, over the years, 60,000 people died there. One of the creepiest things about it is the tunnel that was used to transport dead bodies down the hill the hospital was on to the highway where they could be picked up and disposed of. Some of the land has been sold off for a subdivision, but the current owners offer tours now and then with the proceeds offsetting the costs of the restoration. They also have had a Halloween tour. Although the building looks large from US 31W, it appears even larger once you are on top of the hill it is on.
