What are some fun places in tulsa to go for vacation? |
Travel Info i live about 30 minutes from tulsa, but im sure there are some places i am forgeting. thanks Travel Tips Oh my there is soo much to do in Tulsa I just love to visit there. Okay first of all there is the aquarium, that is always fun for kids of all ages. Also Route 66 runs through Tulsa and there are several landmarks on it! Woodward park is interesting they have thousands of rose bushes there very pretty and wonderful to walk through. Also what about the Zoo? I just love the Tulsa zoo first it is cheap and second it is just a wonderful place. You can get discount tickets at the vistiors center. Also what about the OK Jazz Hall of Fame. If you like Jazz this is the place for you I was very suprised by this little museum. Discoveryland is also cool they do live shows outside most about Wil Rogers and the Follies, still cheap and a nice place to go see a show. The Geoscience center was something that we stumbled upon, hands on for the kids and very educational we really enjoyed it. Perryman Wrangler Ranch is also very cool cost nothing but does require reservations, learn about Native Americans, watch cowboys wrangle cattle, see a old west shoot out and eat with the cowboys around the campfire, enjoy real cowboy food! We had a great time here if you have never been try to go you will enjoy it! Have you been to tohe Tulsa Air and Space Museum? This place is great! They have tons of planes to see and tons of info on the space program. There are a ton of hands on displays for kids and they opened a new plantirum that is really cool! Also there is tons of live theater in Tulsa, they have several great theater companies that are always having a performance. I was really impressed with the ammount of live theater that Tulsa has, something for all price ranges. Also the Tulsa Ballet is very good! I really do not care for Ballet but, I did enjoy the performance. Here are a few listings of theaters: American Indian Theater Co. 322 N. Greenwood Ave. (918) 838-3875 American Theatre Company, Inc. 3003 E. 56th St. (918) 747-9494 Brady Theater 105 W. Brady St. (918) 582-7239 Broken Arrow Community Playhouse 1800 S. Wheeling Ave. (918) 746-5065 Also outside of Tulsa there is the Wil Rogers Museum in Claremore OK they take donations for admission and this place goes on and on I have been several times and there is always something new, they have a great kids area that allows them to run and play and become part of his life, really cool place. Down the road from that is his house, self guided tour on the lake great picnic areas! They also have a ton of farm animals just running free good day trip for the kids. Also outside of Claremore is Foyil the worlds largest man made totem pole is here kids love this place! Again free and while you are in the area you might as well stop by! Well I hope this helps you, I would tell you that the best Breakfast in Tulsa is at the Metro but, sadly they tore the famous diner down earlier this year, what a shame. I hope this helps you have a great summer! Others the aquarium in jenks |
