Who can tell me some good dinner spots in Asheville, NC near the Biltmore Estate?? |
Travel Info My family and I are going to Asheville, NC to visit the Biltmore Estate and we are a down to earth group and I wanted to know has anyone been there and if they could suggest at least 5 different spots to enjoy ourselves with good eats at a cheap to moderate price??? Any suggestions will help thanks!!! Travel Tips *(pricey)For a really wonderful treat go to Rezaz's in the Biltmore Village right across from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. *(moderate)If your kids are picky and you want something easy yet always good have some Mexican at La Paz right in Biltmore Village as well. *(very reasonable) 12 Bones BBQ at 5 Riverside Drive which is about 5 minutes from Biltmore Estate is INCREDIBLE. Only open for lunch on weekdays, so hit it up if you can. *Bruggers Bagels is right there in the Biltmore Village as well. Great for breakfast and lunch *(reasonable) Downtown: Doc Cheys!! Great noodle house. *(CHEAP)Downtown- Grove Arcade- CATS and DAWGS is a great hot dog place. Perfect for kids, also a wonderful place to walk around after you eat. *actually one of the best 'kid' places is Asheville Pizza and Brewing on Merrimon. Go early and on a kids night. Very reasonable. If you go down 25 S (heading south) you will pass an Atlanta Bread Company, Providence 620 (moderate Italian) and then pass the blue ridge parkway you will see applebees, chilis, etc. Downtown is WONDERFUL for food, so if you want to have some great meals only a few minutes away check out Early Girl Eatery, Tupelo Honeys, City Bakery, Mamacitias) Feel free to e-mail me if you have a particular question! Happy to help. YOU WILL LOVE ASHEVILLE. Biltmore Estate does have its own food. Very pricey at dinner but very very good. Great pizza at the winery for lunch. Still pricey. Source(s): proud local foodie Other Travel Tips Two answers to your question. First, there is a shopping area across the street from the entrance to the Biltmore Estates. It is called Biltmore Village. There are several places in there to eat. They are a little pricey, but quaint and nice. Second, for more nice chain restaurants, your best bet is to travel across river road, to Tunnel Road. Tunnel Road, near the Asheville Mall, has a ton of stuff of every price range. From Biltmore Area, take Biltmore Ave, to Swannonoa River Road and make a right, it only goes one way at that point. When you come to South Tunnel Road (you will be able to see an interstate overpass in front of you) make a left turn. Follow this road up the hill. You will see the Mall on your left, and tons of eating places on either side of this road. Personal Experience. |
