Where are some good beaches in connecticut? |
Travel Info u know like not crowded, places to eat near it, etc... Travel Tips Connecticut is on Long Island Sound, not the ocean, so the beaches aren't great. If you can, try driving out to Rhode Island. Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, RI http://www.misquamicut.org/about.html... Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT http://ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=... I like to eat at Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale in Madison: http://www.ljfishtale.com Ocean Beach Park in New London, CT http://www.ocean-beach-park.com... Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme, CT http://www.lisrc.uconn.edu/coastalaccess... Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT http://www.friendsofsherwoodisland.org... Others I think Hammonasset is the best public beach in Connecticut which is not saying much. I find the public beaches to be crowded and fairly ugly with poor sand. If you want to do something nice, take the ferry to Fishers Island. You will need a bike once there unless you want to pay to bring your car over (need a reservation). There is not much there so bring what you need to eat or drink. The beaches are nice and they are not crowded but they are tougher to acess. https://www.fiferry.com/schedule.aspx... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fishers_isl... or http://greenwichct.virtualtownhall.net/p... |
