What are some tips for taking pictures in the Grand Canyon?

Travel Info
I am going there this summer. I'm going to be on the South Rim...I'm entering a travel photo contest and need some tips on taking pictures there

Travel Tips
I'm not a photographer But I have lived near the Canyon and spent much time hiking it .
Here's what I know: The Canyon changes color every fifteen minutes due to the fact that you are looking into a very deep hole and there is a constant interplay of light and shadow .
T-storms in summer are the norm so you may want to check weather forecasts and wait to shoot one.
Speaking of weather & T- storms, double rainbows are also the norm in the high desert of tThe Colarado Plateau.. A double rainbow is a reflection of a refraction and so the colors are reversed.
While the GCNP proper is not the best place to see a 2x rainbow bc of the trees, if you leave the Park using the Desert View exit the spectacular downhill run to Cammeron AZ will provide the proper vistas to get the 2x rainbow shot.
Speaking of Desert View, one of my favorite places to take first time Canyon vistors is Lipan Point bc almost the entire GCN geological story can be seen from there.Unlike most GCN overlooks where the River is this little thread of brown water that can only be occasionaly seen, at Lipan Pt The River is clearly visible for miles and miles.
For a reference book on shooting GCN & GCN geology, you may want to see if you can find Corridors of Time by Robert Redfern-I just saw a copy on E-Bay selling for five bucks.
COT is this monstrously heavy coffee table book that is worth owning if you're at all interested in GCN. Most libraries should have a copy in their photography/oversized book collection.

I suppose the best tip I can give is "Don't stand too close to the edge"锛?
