Visiting Block Island? Stay, do, eat? Help!?!? |
Travel Info I'm from CT and I only went to Block Island as a kiddo and my hubby and I wanna go there. I have done a bunch of online research but I'm not really seeing anything that catches my eye! Any advice? Where to stay?? GOOD EATS? Best beaches? Travel Tips My husband and I were just there 2 weeks ago. I had been there about 8 years ago to visit someone who lived there and I always wanted to go back with my husband. I must say say that I was a little disappointed. It's beautiful but, expensive and it was still off season. We went to the island from Point Judith on the ferry. We took the car on the ferry it was $120 round trip. I think the best way to go is to park your car on the Mainland and go over and either you can rent a moped or the taxi will take you siteseeing. There a places to eat at Old Harbor at the various hotels. Crescent beach is probably one of the popular beaches. You should see the Block Island lighthouse on the south end of the island. It sits high on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The views are great. Not much more to say. I would not stay much more than a day or two. You can really see everything in a day. The island is only about 8 miles long and 4 miles or so wide. Also, it gets very crowded in the summer. Others i have no clue. can i have the best answer? lol |
