Is it difficult for a 20 year old European to buy a car in USA or Canada?

Travel Info
I am currently in Vancouver, BC - travelling across the USA. Taking Busses all the time sucks...

Travel Tips
There is no legal problem buying a car in the USA - the other answers are correct about having to get insurance, license plates, etc. and having to sell it when you leave (unless you want to have it shipped to Europe).

If you just want to avoid taking the bus for long distances, look at an airline pass: http://www.skyteam.com/en/benefits/ameri...

As long as you have the cash, I see no problem. Of course, you will need a valid driver's license in both the USA and Canada.
Not to buy it, but it may be problematic to buy a license plate, get a drivers license, and get car insurance if you don't have permanent US address?
In the US it can be tough to get financing if you are not a legal resident of the US. If you are paying cash for the car no problem.
No, just go shopping for a car. The expensive part is the insurance. You will also need to sell it before you go home to Europe.
Why not stay here in Vancouver? It really is the best place.
The car is simple to buy. Insurance will be another matter.
