Travel Info Suggestions on where to stay in Kauai. First time to the island - would like a moderate priced place -thanks? Travel Tips The most popular spot to stay in Kauai is Poipu, however there are few moderate priced hotels there. Mostly just high-end and condos. There is one good hotel at a moderate price called the Castle Kiahuna Plantation. I would stay in this area if you can find anything in your price range. Princeville/Hanalei is very nice too, the wet side of the island so you get a little more rain but everything is beautiful. The Hanalei Bay Resort is very nice and moderately priced. Most of the moderate priced hotels on between Wailua and Kapaa on the Royal Coconut Coast area just north of the airport. It's the older section of the island, the area they filmed "Blue Hawaii" and other old movies. A very good hotel here is the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort, I stayed here the first time I visited the island. It's very nice hotel in a central location. Just check hotels on expedia or travelocity, see if you can find something in the first two areas. |
