Anyone from north or south carolina?

my husband and i were looking to buy a house in either one of these states..if anyone lives in either one can you just let me know how you like it..and is it worth moving to..and do the jobs pay well..my husband is worried about moving and the job pay...i live in maryland and i cant stand it here..the cost of living is terrible..thanks for all answers..

Both are okay states to live in, most notably the Blue Ridge Mountain area around Asheville in western North Carolina.
