Need help from People Of North Carolina!? |
Travel Info My boyfriend and I are trying to get away for a weekend trip not too far away from home. Basically staying in NC. Any ideas as of where to go leaving on a Friday and coming home on Sunday??? It is also my birthday that weekend. SO we are looking for something fun or historic. OR ANYTHING! Travel Tips I spent some time in Wilmington and had a blast. The beaches are very nice and Wilmington itself is not bad. There are good restaurants, hotels and history. I went for the fourth of July and went to an annual party where people tie there boats up just off a secluded beach. There were thousands of people, the water was warm and I will never forget it. Mostly college kids but I am 34 and felt comfortable and welcome. We stayed at the Hilton Riverside. I have never been, but the Outer Banks are suppose to be awesome! Others there are a number of places you can go to cherkee or pigeon forges. there are cabbins for rent you can have all the quite time you need plus all the shopping you could want is right around the corner. even thought pigeon forges is right into tn. it is worth the few extra mins Nags head and the outer banks are a great place to go. You can do your usual beach stuff and for the education part..it is the place where the Wright Brothers first flew their plane. Depending on where you are located it is not too far from any point in NC. My wife took me on a weekend trip to Franklin. They have several ruby mines up there, and we spent the day on Saturday panning for rubies. I had a lot of fun. On the way back, we stayed off the interstates most of the way and saw some interesting things. You can't go wrong just about anywhere in the mountains. |
