Homer Alaska isn't near the skiing areas. It's at the end of the Kenai peninsula, it's a fishing area. You go out of Homer to get the largest halibut in the world, it's so much fun. Homer is beautiful, but there isn't much to do there outside of fishing, drinking or maybe hiking. You are kind of out of the way in Homer, it's about 3-4 hour drive to Anchorage and all the cities in between are not very big. The wages are great, but the job base sucks. |
