If not tahoe....then where? |
Travel Info My family was planning a tahoe trip for the 4th of july, but with the fire near there it doesn't look like we're going to go. we're trying to think of another place that's close you us(within 3 hours of sacramento). what would you suggest? Thanks! Travel Tips A cool spot to checkout is Coloma, CA - it's on highway 49, North of Placerville. It's a really interesting place with a lot of history and cool places to see - it's the town where gold was first discovered in Cali. If your family enjoys camping, there's plenty of places along the American River. If not, I recommend staying at the Coloma Country Inn B&B (www.colomacountryinn.com). Other than Coloma, maybe head up to North or East Lake Tahoe (away from the fire). Or, you can always roll over to SF, take a tour of Alcatraz, and checkout the city.
