Does anyone know how to prevent homesickness? |
Travel Info i went camping with my friend and i was so homesick i had to go home because i was barly even able to do anything! any good tips? Travel Tips There are several good answers here. I like the one that says to write letters. Letters are far more personal and memorable than email or phone calls, and they build better bonds between people. The second one I like said to keep pictures of your friends and loved ones nearby. Get those pictures! The third may be the most important, which is to realize that homesickness is normal and a sign that you have deep feelings. Would you really want to be the kind of person that was so numb that they did not feel homesickness? In which case, remembering the reasons you are away from home and realizing you are probably there for a good reason. Whether to learn and grow as a person, or perhaps simply to help your family by having a better job. Be proud that you have chosen to move forward and have a new experience, but don't ever feel that your sense of separation is wrong. Realize also you are with people who are going through the very same experience. Talk to them about it. Since all you did was go camping, remember that you will return home again soon, and don't lose out on the unique experience because you have a temporary feeling of insecurity. It's really only temporary.stay home, you won't get homesick there. Take something with you. Like your pillow. Try writing a letter home. keep yourself busy too. remember that you will see home again and just try to relax and have fun! it's good to get away sometimes. Stay at home...so you don't ruin a good time for everyone around you. its a natural chemical reaction in your brain. you loose this homesickness when something happens making you trapped in an area away from your home, then your activate "flight or fight" making you have to adapt to life. |
