Do most Colorado cities have geography thats characteristic of cities like Durango, Telluride, and Uray.?

Travel Info
I'm mainly asking about the Boulder area. I hear that part of the Great Plains dip down into the area by Boulder. I'm not a flat lands person thats all, and i would really love to live in Durango... but the cost of living there is insane.

Travel Tips
well for the most part the citys in colorado are located in the front range which is flatter but the rockys are always right nearby, all the mountain towns tend to be small and the cost of living is very high. boulder would be your best bet for a good balance of cost of living and nearness to the mountains, but it isnt like durango, there are affordable towns that are similar to those in colorado and similar to durango located in other states though, like northern new mexico and places in arizona like bisbee and jerome (the ones in arizona are in desert mountains though)
