Travel Info I plan on doing plenty of my own research like I do every time I travel, but I was wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences there, what it's really like, and anything else you'd like to share. Thanks!
Travel Tips
Lily Dale, NY is a very uplifting town if you are into Spiritulism and mediums. I've spent a lot of time there, I have some very dear friends who make their year round home on the grounds. If you want to book a reading be sure to do it in advance because if you wait until you get there chances are you will be disappointed, many mediums are booked ahead of time. I highly recommend Mediums Stephanie Turachak and Shirley Calkins Smith. Stephanie is a fast paced medium who amazes many of her clients (be sure to book ahead) and Ms. Smith gives excellent readings also. Lots of "free" stuff included in the gate fee, be sure to check out the healing temple, it's a great experience, twice a day and the mediums take turns giving messages to the crowds at the "Stump" and "Forest Temple". It's great to stay on the grounds as you get the full experience. Call and make reservation is best, you can visit Lily Dales web site. Best time to go is during the week, weekends get busy sometimes, though weekends sometimes have more going on in the auditorium. Good place to stay is Jan & Jays or The Jewel on The Lake. Be sure to take a walk on the fairy trail up behind the healing temple and visit the museum. Usually a nice program in the auditorium every day, free. Some Saturday evenings they have programs in the auditorium that are lots of fun and of course all summer they have classes you can participate in for a fee. Classes are great if you have the time to participate in them. At their site on the web you can request a program and it will list all the classes and tell you some of the Dale. If you've never been there and you are interested in Spiritualism and messages from the other side you won't be disappointed. Two good restaurant's to visit outside of the Dale (a little pricy in the Dale) are Grama's Kitchen by the grocery store in Cassadaga and one (changed names I can't remember it) over by the stop lite in Cassadaga. Be sure to Visit the Bargain Shop in the Dale for lots of neat goodies to take home. |
