What are some fun things to do in Maine? |
Travel Info I'm taking a trip to Maine with my boyfriend later in the summer to a cabin near Bar Harbor. I'm looking forward to it but I'm not too outdoorsy so I'm wondering what there is to do up there besides fishing? Any suggestions? Travel Tips Downtown Bar Harbor is a cool place with lots of shops and restaurants. Go on a whale watch. Explore Acadia National Park. Rent bikes and ride around on the carriage road. Make sure you eat lunch at the Jordan Pond house. Source(s): been there 3 times Other Travel Tips Reading is always good in Maine. There is a little mom and pop bookstore on main street. Sometimes there is coffee available. If not, just across the street and down a bit is a little restaraunt with the best biscuits and gravy. I spent several weeks up there, and the people there are wretched. They wouldn't help me in any way. They just looked at me funny when I asked for help. Even the hotel staff were rude , inconsiderate slimeballs who seemed as if shoving bamboo spikes up their fingernails would be more pleasant than helping me find a restaurant or other place of interest. I couldn't wait to get out of that horrid place. There is more than fishing available up here. You can go hiking, biking, rock climbing, kayaking, take a whale watching cruise, go to Sand Beach at Acadia National Park, visit museums, shop at the malls in Bangor, shop in downtown Bar Harbor. The only ones who would find the area dull are those with dull minds. Lifelong Mainer |
