Travel Tips
OK. This is really easy, because I am an Ohio Native.... In Ohio there is Cedar Point....(voted the best amuesment park in the world 8 years in a row)...is an absolute blast if you go, also has a waterpark, and really nice beahes. (In Sandusky) Then there is King Island, (outside of in Cincinatti) whch is pretty fun, but a generic amuement Park, (nothing special) has a waterpark too, but near Kings Island is The Beach Waterpark, which is sooo fun, they have great slides, it is really cheap too. So you could do a double day thing where you go to ings Island, then The Beach Waterpark, which is fun. (They are across the street from each other.) Also, in Columbus. they have a brand new indoor waterpark, Fort Rapids, which is pretty fun as well. They also have a great zoo, if you're into animals.

But you're best bet is Cedar Point..it's AMAZING! Also, they have numerous indoor waterparks, and other things to do up there right near edar Point, such as Great Wolf Lodge, Kalahai, etc....

Hope I helped! Have fun wherver you go...
Others
Philadelphia has major historical stuff and a fantastic museum including full sized rooms from centuries old places that you can walk through.
Phily, Pitts, Toledo, Cinncinnati, and West Virginia have art and commercial glassblowing studios and factories. WV is strong on crafts and summer music festivals and there should be some in the other states.
All three states will have commercial entertainment like you describe. Ohio has some of the biggest roller coasters in the world.
Websearch with the state name and what interests you most or the state name and 'tourist entertainment'
The best amusement park in the world, Cedar Point, is in Sandusky, Ohio...on Lake Erie...about an hour west of Cleveland (Cedar Point has a water park as well). There's also Geauga Lake near Cleveland and Kings Island between Columbus and Cincinnati. Actually, if I recall correctly, all three of these amusement parks have connected water parks. Sandusky has two indoor water park resorts in addition to Cedar Point.
Any specific part? If you are going for waterparks/Amusement Parts then the Pittsburgh, PA REGION has Kennywood(technically in West Mifflin) and Sand Castle, which isn't too far away.
With Ohio you'd have Cedar Point as the main one, also a rather well known one.
It would be easy to find those sort of attractions in PA and Ohio, not as sure with West Virgina but I'm sure you could find some.
If you're in the Altoona, Pennsylvania area, go to Del Grosso Amusement Park, Lakemont Park, the Horseshoe Curve, and you can visit attractions in downtown Altoona such as the Railroader's Museum, the Mishler Theater, and the many shops in the downtown.
