Should I move to Tucson?

Travel Info
I'm a 30 something single person. I'm considering a job with Raytheon but am seriously unsure about moving to AZ. Pls. help!

Travel Tips
I went to the University of Arizona for 5 years before just recently graduating with my engineering degree. Raytheon is a very very lucrative company if you can get a job with them, and I know many engineers here who work for them. If you have the job then the move would be a very good thing considering the cost of living is pretty low and Tucson still maintains somewhat of a "small town" atmosphere. If you want the urban landscape then Phoenix is more your area, but I think it feels like Los Angeles with less water and more heat.

Tucson also has the heat which is hovering around 108潞F right now in July, but it cools off at night to around 75潞F. There is also a monsoon season that brings in rain which makes the heat more bearable. Outside of weather, like any city, there are good areas and bad areas. The school system could be improved here, but it is manageable. Crime is about average with property theft being the main contributor, but that is what happens when you are that close to the Mexican border. Generally, crime lessens as you move north in the city. The hospital system here could use a great deal of work, but I wouldn't use it as a determining factor especially with University Medical Center being a leader in some very innovative treatments for chronic illnesses. The singles scene here is lackluster if you go to bars and clubs. There aren't a ton of activities to do unless you actively seek them out, but they are out there.

Basically, if you don't mind the heat, Tucson is a very nice place to be for a decade or so. It is a short drive from Phoenix if you need anything specialized, but most everything can be found right in town. If the job is lined up, and you are going to stick with it for awhile, Tucson is a good place to live. Source(s): Tucson resident on and off for 15 years
Other Travel Tips
I'm not sure about Tuscon. It's kinda vague. Try phoenix, it's nicer there. Sedona is beautiful but rugged. Hmmmm. Not so sure on this one....
Move if you want. Just get ready to see lots of old people, illegals, and weather thats as hot as a hell pit!!
