Is it safe to go across the Arizona/California desert during 117 degree heat in an R.V.? |
Travel Info We are going home and are wondering if there poses any specific risks traveling in this heat; pending we don't break down. Any opinions? Only real answers please. Travel Tips It is safe IF: your RV is in good shape....IF you take a bag of extra water....IF....your RV is in good shape (I said that twice, because it is so important)...belts, tires...tend to crap out the hotter it gets. And you don't want to know how much it costs to have your RV towed in for repairs. Have a CB so you can holler for help if needed. Good luck... Others Well as long as you stay hydrated then you should be fine....also wear sunblock as the sun poses a temporary threat of skin cancer....other than that, if your moving you shouldnt be worried about the "nature" out there...the dangerous animals are the reptiles(snakes) everything else is scared to come out or wont bother you if you dont bother it.... If you have gas and water and a generator on top and maybe two on top of rv,. for back up? Have fune and stay safe. The critical question here is do you have an air conditioner when your unit has to stop overnight and the engine is not running the RV air conditioner. Because as you sleep in the night the temperature may be near 100 degrees and not a speck of wind in some areas.(not dangerous but very unconformable.) But as long as you are moving and keep the air on it is not dangerous. |
