Does anyone know the best and easiest way to Texas from Missouri?? |
Travel Info I am moving from Branson, Missouri in a couple of weeks to Houston, Texas. I need to find a way there that is not through the Ozark Mountains but doesn't add more hours to the drive. I really don't want to have to change a lot of roads also. I don't want to get lost. Travel Tips I 44 to I 35 TO 45. I would buy a road atlas. dont use mapquest . it sucks. If you get an atlas and then get to I 44 you will see what I am talking about and its all interstate and not back roads thru little towns and hills. good luck. If you need more info just IM me. Source(s): retired otr driver Other Travel Tips http://mapquest.com that will tell you or open up an atlas. take I-35 south. you will get there eventully. Take Hwy 65 East (south) to 412 south (West - toward Springdale, AR) - Then take 540 South (toward Fort Smith AR) to 40 west - follow 40 west into Oklahoma to highway 69 - go south on highway 69 all the way through Oklahoma - when you get into Texas, 69 turns into Hwy 75 (it is the same road) follow that into Dallas. From Dallas take I 45 directly into Houston. It is 685 miles and you should be able to get there in about 12 - 13 hours depending on your stop times. Go Luck! Take Dorothoy's advice. She was in Kansas and understands. Click your heels three times and say "There's No Place Like Hell, There's No Place Like Hell", open your eyes and you're there! Now wasn't that fast and easy? Mapquest. I think you will be on 169 much of the way. |
