Where did you grow up in a small town, big city or in the country? |
Travel Info I grew up on a farm near a very small town in Minnesota. Thru my life I have lived in big cities and will now spend the rest of my life in a small town again. I like the peace & quiet, but not real crazy about everyone knows your business and snobby people in this small town Travel Tips I also grew up in small town USA and like u have lived in big cities--and kissed the ground when I got back home--lol--I like the smallness of my town and the homeliness of it! Others In the country. A little community called Dry Hollow, TN I grew up on a farm in NW IL, but moved to a small town when I was 12. I've lived in bigger towns, cities, and spent time abroad. I'm hoping to move to a big city. I know what you mean about snobby people always knowing your business before you even know it! 1) Half my childhood was in the suburbs of a LARGE city (8 million+) 2) The other half was in the middle of a SMALL city (250,000), far from any big cities, where everything felt like suburbs. Since then, I have lived back in the suburbs of the large city, as well as in midtown of another large city (4 million+) because I thought I missed the big city. I'm about to move to a suburb of a small city (600,000), though, because I really need a change of pace. I grew up in a small town in central Kentucky, and still live here. I've moved away twice to much larger metro areas (Louisville and Cincinnati,) only to be drawn back to the same town each time. I enjoyed the cities, and hate my hometown more and more with each passing day. There are two types of people here: white trash rayyyyyednecks, or rich wannabes who are in plenty of debt but act snotty anyway! I'm leaving next year once and for all...I hope! i grew up in the city. Now I am stuck in this small town. Big difference! Leaving in the city, i was living, being in this town it kinda seems time is just absorbing me! I hate also that everybody is competing to have the nicest yard!! Hopefully my donkey will actually listen and make this butterfly happy!lol |
