Can I use an European ATM Card for ATMs in the USA?

Travel Info
(with the Maestro sign)

Travel Tips
Yes, you can. Maestro is owned by MasterCard, and they offer debit card services worldwide. Technically, your card is a debit card, not an ATM card. The difference is that ATM cards will only work at an ATM-- you usually cannot use them at retailers as you would a credit or debit card. Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/maestro_(de...

Lol no, theres a different code thingy on the card
ya i used my atm card there anyway, i think once you have the maestro or link sign you should be ok
Yes you can but your bank will normally charge you for it. Hope it helps :-)
I'm going by what my bank here in the Czech Republic said, and that was that indeed, it'll work over there in the US. I have, however, a Visa card. But I don't see where there'd be any difference.
If you have a Visa or Mastercard (or Maestro, in your case), you can. Just check the ATM has the Maestro logo. But the bank charges would be much higher, so i suggest that you get an American account/card. - :)
